One of the main frequently asked questions from Florida villa renters when hiring a car is what insurances do I need? Well, its simple. We often recommend Florida Car Hire because they offer 'Fully Inclusive Insurance' with every single car rental.

Here's a copy of whats currently included;

Fully Inclusive Rates

Unlimited Mileage.

Loss Damage Waiver (LDW) which is a combination insurance of both Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Theft Waiver. As long as you adhere to the rental policy of the supplier you will not be held responsible for the cost of replacement or repair to your hire vehicle.

Uninsured Motorist Protection (UMP) up to $1m Liability Cover. Offers an Uninsured/Underinsured/Hit-and-Run Motorist Protection (UMP) that provides the renter and family members traveling together in the rented vehicle with up to $1,000,000 of non-stacked coverage for bodily injury sustained while driving the rental car, and caused by another driver who has no insurance, minimal insurance, or is a hit-and-run driver.

Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) up to $1m Liability Cover. All drivers included on the rental agreement will not be held liable for third party claims for bodily injury or property damage resulting from an accident.

Basic Roadside Assistance

All Taxes and Airport Fees. (except the new 2.5% California Tourism Tax which is payable locally for all Californian pick up's and the CFC charge levied at Orlando International Airport)

So you can see that you'll be fully covered. You can get more information by clicking in the following link: Florida Car Hire Insurance

So that's the car hire sorted, now for the villa! Bargain Villas have loads of Cheap Florida Holiday Villas available to book with top quality companies like 'Interhome' as well as tons of villas offered direct with the owners.

The Government is to postpone plans to scrap tax relief on holiday homes until after next month’s General Election

ABTA has welcomed the decision, and said it will continue to lobby the next government to keep the tax relief system, set out under the Furnished Holiday Lettings rule, as it is.

It claims a planned repeal of the FHL, announced in the April 2009 Budget, would have had ‘serious harmful consequences for the domestic tourism sector leading to a loss of over £200m and 4,500 jobs’.

The FHL repeal was part of the Finance Bill, which the Government had wanted to fast-track through Parliament ahead of the General Election on 6 May.

However, the Conservatives refused to allow the legislation to be fast-tracked unless the FHL rule and two others, including the controversial cider tax, were omitted from the Bill.

The Government was forced to agree last night, in order to get the Bill passed before the Election.

A review of the repeal was one the key demands in the recently launched ABTA Travel Manifesto.

ABTA, the Tourism Alliance and ABTA member the Holiday Cottages Group had all lobbied on the issue.

Mark Tanzer, chief executive of ABTA, said: ‘The repeal of the FHL rules would have had an extremely damaging impact on domestic tourism and many of our members’ businesses and we welcome the Government’s sensible decision to set aside the proposed repeal for the time being.

‘We will call on the new government in office after 6 May to listen to industry concerns and reform FHLs in a way that both achieves Government objectives as well as supporting domestic tourism.’

When it comes to getting things organised for a holiday I have to admit im pretty rubbish at it. Last trip I packed for I forgot underwear and socks...Therefore I tend to leave this aspect of travel to my girlfriend who is far more efficient than me. With this in mind here are a couple of useful tips;

1) Roll and not fold: Roll clothes instead of folding them, it creates less creases and saves space. Honest!

2) Mix it up: If packing 2 or more cases spread clothes between cases. If a case gets lost you'll still have something to wear.

3) Make it visible: Use a bright strip of ribbon or tape to wrap around your case for easy identification when collecting your baggage.

4) Security: Ensure that the zips are strong on the cases and that you have good quality padlocks on the checked in baggage. Keep a spare one for your hand baggage as well. Combination locks are useful if you don?t want to have the hassle of looking after keys.

5) Useful items to consider packing: Money belt, spare specs/contact lenses, chargers or batteries, universal adapter plug, a pen, pack of cards, small sewing kit medi-kit: plasters and headache tablets

More tips available at http://www.bargainvillas.co.uk/traveltips.aspx you can also help others (like me) by adding your own travel tip!?- Let us know what have you forgotton to pack?

Being on holiday doesn?t automatically mean you have to slum it for a couple of weeks. Renting a villa for your next holiday means you can STILL have all your creature comforts without spending a fortune. Here are a few great benefits to villa renting;

?Space: A holiday home is far more spacious than hotel accommodation. Rental properties will have all the dimensions of a proper home; multiple bedrooms, cooking areas, living and dinning areas, parking space and usually a garden or pool.

Kitchens: One of the things I miss most when I am away is being able to cook and prepare food. A holiday property will typically come with a fully equipped kitten with modern appliances. ??

Washing machine/tumble dryer: In house dry cleaning and washing facilities offered by hotels are usually done so at a premium. Not only are you making big savings on these services you can also pack less knowing that you can simply rewash your favourite clothes when you need to.

Privacy: When you rent a villa you are also renting your own private space for you and your family. Although most hotels have plenty of facilities for you to use; they are not exactly private. You can relax in comfort knowing that your villa rental is a private and independent space for you and your family to enjoy.

Cost: Most holiday villas are large enough to sleep two medium sized families. Doubling up with friends can spread the cost of your next holiday. The price per-head per-day represents significant savings when compared to the same standard of living/facilities offered by hotels.
